Miss Berta Weinberg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Wein-
berg, of Santa Rosa Dr., received the Curved Bar award of the
Girl Scouts at Scout sabbath services of Temple Israel Feb. 4.
The Curved Bar is equivalent to the Boy Scout Eagle award. Berta,
an eighth .grade student at Hampton School, was the only Girl
Scout to receive the honor.

moon at the Nautilus Hotel, Miami Beach, Fla.. Mrs. Warsh re-
ceived a trophy for mambo dancing and also many prizes for being
chosen "Queen of the Nautilus" in a beauty contest.
The Sam Fentons, of 18614 Birchcrest, have returned from a
trip to New Orleans, La., and Miami Beach, Fla. While in Florida,
they visited with their aunts and uncles, the Robert Siegels, of
Pine Tree Dr., the Seymour Siegels, of North Bay Rd., and the
Michael Subelskis, of Coral Gables.
Mr. and Mrs. Norman • Barron and son, of Martindale Ave.,
have • left the city to make their new hoine at 2815 S. Cochren,
Los Angeles, Calif.
Miss Jean Brindze, of 2732 Pasadena, was in Washington, D. C.
last week end to attend the annual executive committee meeting
of Bnai Brith Girls. Miss Brindze, national first vice-president, is

Mrs. Isaac Rosenthal, of Blaine Ave., has left for Oakland, Calif.,
where she will attend the Bar Mitzvah of her grandson, Bobby
Shatzen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Shatzen (Shirley Rosenthal).
Mr. and Mrs. William Hordes vacationed for a week in Chicago.

David I. Berris to Head
Young Israel Anniversary

Young Israel of Detroit will
have its 32nd anniversary ban-
quet on May 24, at Latin Quar-
ter. Meyer Eisenberg, chairman
of the board, announced the ap-
pointment of David I. Berris as
general chairman of the cele-
bration.
An educational young adults
program in the Evergreen area,
will begin March 1, in addition
to the 18 youth groups presently
meeting in the Dexter area.
Rabbi Samuel H. Prero is pre-
paring a cantata for 60 boys and
girls for the May 24 banquet.
