invitation from Dorothy Thomp-
son, president of the anti-
Zionist "American Friends of
the Middle East," has been ac-
cepted by George V. Allen, new-
ly-designated Assistant Secre-
tary of State for Near Eastern
Affairs, who agreed to speak
before the AFME in New York.
Mr. Allen addressed the anti-
Zionist group Jan. 27 at the
Hotel Delmonico. The State De-
partment made known that it
will not publish an advance text
of the address for use of the
press. Government sources, in-
dicated that Mr. Allen was not
to deal, in the address, with
current aspects of the Arab-
Israel issue.

ISTANBUL, (JTA) - The Lay
Council of the Grand Rabbinate
-of Turkey decided to build a
new Jewish school in Taksim, a
modern district of this city
where hundreds of Jewish fam-
ilies live. At present it is ex-
tremely difficult for Jewish
children from this district to
reach ; any of the five other
Jewish schools scattered
throughout the city.
The building is expected to
cost 1,000,000 Turkish lira (ap-
