the topic of the annual lecture
series planned by the Detroit
Chapter of Hadassah, it was an-
nounced this week by Mrs. Wil-
liam B. Isenberg, Chapter presi-
dent,
Albert Elazar, associate super-
intendent of the United Hebrew
Schools, will be the principal
discussant,
The first program will be held
at 10 a.m., Tuesday, at the
Northland Community Con-
course auditorium. Elazar will
speak on "Political Developments
in the Middle East."
At the subsequent lecture at
10 a.m., Feb. 8, Elazar will de-
velop the theme "Economic and
Social Developments in the Mid-
dle East."

Arrested Romanian Zionist
Dies in Bucharest Prison

MUNICH, (JTA)—M. Yampol-
sky, a leading Jewish communal
worker in Romania arrested for
"illegal Zionist activity" three
years ago, has died in a Buch-
arest jail, He was the last direc-
tor of the Palestine Emigration
