Workmen's Circle
To Open NW Branch

A new branch of the Work-
men's Circle School will be open-
ed on Jan. 31, at Vernor Ele-
mentary School, 13726 Pembroke,
in room 205. Registration starts
at 4 p.fri,
The school curriculum will in-
clude reading, writing a n d
speaking Yiddish and Hebrew,
history, Bible stories biograph-
ies of Jewish leaders and the
meaning of holiday celebrations.
New classes for beginners are
also being formed at the main
branch, 11529 Linwood. A special
class for five and six-year-olds
will feature stories, games,. reci-
tations and songs.

To Honor Lay Leaders

of Adas Shalom Synagogue will
be honored at monthly late sab-

Rajinsky, the guest speaker,
will draw from her many years
of experience as an ardent
worker for Karen Kayemeth.
Miss Nita Shelah Herzon,
noted singer of Yemenite, • He-

her appearance for the JNF
Ladies' Auxiliary, she has pre-
pared a special program dedi-
dated to the American Jewish
Tercententaryy, entitled "A New
Life in a New Land." Her inter-
pretation, in narrative, song,
and dance, will portray the ar-
rival of the first Jews in this
country in 1654 and will trace
American Jewish history
through 1954.
