Histadrut Spurs
Drive Activities
Volunteer workers of the His-
tadrut Campaign were recipients
of a. special treat when they
were invited to "preview" the
new Histadrut documentary film
"Faces. of Israel," made in Is-
rael.
The mood of this film is en-
hanced by music written by
the noted Israeli c o m p o se r,
Shmuel Fershko. "Faces of Is-
rael" is a human drama that
can , be read on a million faces
—the' faces of pioneers, workers,
immigrants who go to make up
the Histadrut.
The film is now available to
a 11: organizations. Information
may be had by telephoning the
local Histadrut office.
Individual work e r s and a
number of groups have put in
a 'busy week readying them-
selves for Mayor David Tuvia-
hu's five-day visit to Detroit
which commences today.
Singled out for special recog-
nition by virtue of their fine ef-
forts this week were Louis Gold-

liam Klafer of the Farband Di-

dent of . the Ampal Corporation
and has now joined the na-
tional staff of the Histadrut
Campaign; 'an executive board
meeting on Jan. 23 and a mid-
term "community-wide 'cultural
forum" in February.
Morris Malin, co-chairman of
the Landsmanshaften division,
advises that he anticipates in-
creased activity in his group
n o w that most organizations
have finished with the election
of new officers for 1955 and
have settled into routine acti-
vity. "I am confident that with
the assistance of this major di-
vision we will reach the $125,000
goal on Jan. 16 as planned," said
Mr, Malin.
