On Dec. 19, at Rainbow Ter-
race, Edythe Lawson exchanged
marriage vows with Eli Broad
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Lawson, of
Btoepel Ave. Mr. Broad is the
on of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Broad,
of Oak Park, Mich. Rabbi Ben-
jamin Gorrelick and Cantor Ju-
dah Goldring officiated.
The new Mrs. Broad wore a
gown of white rosepointe chan-
tilly lace and nylon tulle over
white satin. An off-the-shoul-
der band of shirred lace fell into
a portrait neckline with a prin-
cess-line bodice of the lace. The
gown had long sleeves, and the
floor length skirt extended into
a sweep of nylon tulle.
Her double tiered veil of silk
illusion was of fingertip length,
and was held by a cap of lace
and pearls. Her bouquet was
composed of white orchids on
a Bible.
The bride's sister, Beryl, was
her maid of honor, and brides-
maids were Lorraine Goodman
and Lyla Leipzig. Alan Smith
was best man, and ushers in-
cluded Fred Marcus and Harry
Nosanchuck.
Following dinner and a recep-
tion, the couple flew to Florida
for their honeymoon. On their
return, they will reside at 3584
W. Outer Dr.

Three Detroit English Speak-
ing Branches of Workmen's
Circle will be in action tonight.
Branch 460 will meet at 9 p.m.
in the WC Center, to elect of-
ficers.
Branch 463-E will meet at 9
p.m. in the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Walter Klein, 4310 Leslie,
for the annual selection of com-
munity service awards.
WC's newest branch, 1060,

Young Zionists Start
Vital Program Here

More than 100 young people
commenced a lively new pro-
gram of Zionist activities Sun-
day night, at a . cultural-social
meeting at the Zionist House.
An inspiring address was de-
livered by the Rev. William B.
Sperry, who recently returned
from a visit in Israel. Dr. Sperry
praised the Israeli pioneers and
declared that the developments
in the Jewish state point to the
highest type of progress by
builders of a state that shows
evidence of the strongest demo-
cratic leanings.
Dr. Sperry answered many
questions, including some that
were addressed to him by Arab
students who were guests that
evening.
A musical program was given
by Miss Nancy Peters, young TV
entertainer. Israeli songs and
dances followed.
Sponsored by Israeli students
who are attending Wayne Uni-
.versity, many young people
from Wayne and other schools
were present.
A number of similar meetings
are planned as part of a revi-
talized young Zionist program .

Chapters of the Greater De-
troit Bnai Brith Women's Coun-
cil are still concentrating activi-
ties on a prolonged membership
campaign, which seeks to enroll
all communal women in the old-
est philanthropic and social or-
ganization in the nation.
Activities planned for this
week include the following:
DETROIT CHAPTER—A joint
meeting with the Lodge is plan-
ned for 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, at'
Beth Aaron Synagogue. The pro-
gram will feature fashion shows
by leading women's and men's
shops in the city. Acts will be
presented by the Chapter dra-- 1
matic • group, and the film,
"Doorway to Hope," will be
shown.
