Salute Tercentenary at His to rical Museum

To mark the American Jewish Tercentenary, the Gold
Star Parents of the Jewish War Veterans on Sunday vis-
ited the Detroit Historical Museum to view the JWV ex-
hibit that is part of the "Jewish Life and Culture in
Detroit" displays. They were guided through the Museum
by Henry D. Broen, director of the Museum, and Robert
E. Lee, the Museum's and the Tercentenary exhibit's pre-
parator (who are in t1 center of the photo) and Philip
Slomovitz (extreme left), chairman of the Detroit Ter-
centenary Committee.
Meeting ,at brunch at the JWV Memorial Building, be-

fore proceeding to the Museum, the Gold Star Parents an-
nounbed plans for the preparation of a Golden Book to
contain the records of the more than 300 Detroit boys who
lost their lives in the last war.
In the party, shown above, who attended the Historical
Museum's Tercentenary Exhibition were: Meyer Silverman, •

Two popular movie hits have
been scheduled by the Parents-
Teachers Association of the Beth
Yehudah Schools for its annual
Theater Party, to be held from
7 p.m., Monday, at the Dexter
Theater.
The double bill includes the
Technicolor musical "Singing in
the Rain." with Gene . Kelly,
Donald O'Connor and Debby
Reynolds, and "Room for One
-More," with Gary Grant and
Betsy Drake.
Mrs. Isadore Levin is PTA
fund-raising chairman, and Mrs.
A. M. Silverstein is ticket chair-

Hadassah Sabbath,
Pre-Hanukah Service

Temple Israel will hold a dou-
ble celebration at 8:30 p. m. sab-
bath services today.
In addition to the service be
ing designated as Hadassah
Sabbath, members of the con-
gregation will gather for the an-
nual pre-Hanukah family serv-
ice, in which children of mem-
bers will participate.
Members of Hadassah from
all parts of Michigan will gather
to celebrate the occasion. Lead-
ers who will participate in the
service include Mrs. William
Isenberg, president, who will
bless the sabbath candles,. and
Mesdames Theodore Bargman
and Norman Rom who will read
parts of the sabbath ritual.
The religious school choir will
sing Hanukah melodies, and the
Hanukah candles will be lit.
Cantor Rbbert S. Tulman, to-
gether with the temple choral
group, will sing songs composed
by Karl Haas, music director of
the. congregation.
Dr. Leon Fram will deliver the
third in a series on notable De-
cember anniversaries, speaking
on "Hanukah—the Anniversary
of Religious Freedom."
At the conclusion of the serv-
ice, the temple Sisterhood, to-
gether with Hadassah, will serve ,
as hostesSes at a social hour.
Special holiday refreshments are
planned.

Double Bar Mitzvah:
Three in Ceremony

An unsual Bar Mitzvah
ceremony will take place at
`bongregation Bnai Moshe,
Saturday morning, Dec. 25.
The triplet—Larry, Leslie
and Linda Bernstein ; sons and
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Da- .
vid Bernstein, of 2967 Sturte-
vant, will be on the Bimah
While Larry and Leslie
will be Bar Mitzvah and will
be given the charge by -Rabbi
Moses Lehrman, their sister,
Linda, will deliver the speech
for the trio. The triplet, born
in Detroit, attends Durfee In-
termediate 'School. They have
an older sister, Sharon, who
is vice-president of the Bnai
Moshe Junior congregation.
