During his visit here this week, Justice M. Zalman Cheshin of
the Israel Supreme Court was the guest at a gathering at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob B. Granader, 4015 W. Buena Vista.
Mrs. Jules Kondritzer, immediate past president of Detroit
Chapter 41 of United Order True Sisters, will be the Detroit dele-
gate to the movement's national coonvention in New York this
week-end.
Mr. and Mrs. Marshall D. Shulman and children, of Cambridge,
.Mass., were the guests last week of their parents and grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. Harry M. Shulman, of Webb Avenue.
Rev. and Mrs. Jacob Silverman, of Boston Blvd., are leaving for
Florida for the winter months.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Olshansky, of Washburn Ave., held a party
recently honoring their two sons, Wilbert, who was in town from
Michigan State College, and Leon, who has just become a 32nd
degree Mason.
Shirley Lonnerstater has left for France where she will be
joined by her husband, Henry Lonnerstater, who is presently sta-
tioned with the U. S. Army in Germany. They will spend six weeks
touring France, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and England.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Fins and son, Theodore, of Chicago, were
the guests here last week of their cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel .
Lichtenstein, of Wisconsin Avenue.
Rabbi and Mrs. Morris Adler left last week aboard an. El Al
constellation for Tel Aviv. After a month in Israel, the Adlers
will visit in Rome, Geneva, Paris and London.
Mrs. Lillie Zeldis, of this city, recently left for Israel where she
will visit her family.
Mr. Samuel Levin, of Tyler Ave., will leave for Israel tomorrow
on an El Al constellation to visit his family in Ramat Gan.
Mr. Jules Doneson, operator of the Israel Tourist Service, will_
make his fourth visit to the Jewish State when he leaves tomor-
row evening aboard an El Al constellation. He will return home in
late December after visiting with government tourist officials in
Turkey, Italy, Switzerland and France.
Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Stein, of Pasadena Ave., honored their
son, Myron Sanford, at a recent reception at Lachar's. A unique
feature of the affair was a ceremony performed by the boy's
cousins, Cantor Jay Karzen and Sandor Yarzen, of Chicago.
Mr. and Mrs. Hy Garsoff were entertained recently by their
children, Mr. and Mrs. Seymour Garsoff and Mr. and Mrs. Moris
Goldberg, at a surprise dinner party celebrating the Garsoff's
silver wedding anniversary.
Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Bell, of 3302 Tuxedo, recently were hon-
ored at a dinner party for 75 guests on the occasion of their silver
wedding anniversary. The party was given by their children, Dr.
and Mrs. Arthur Schwartz, of 18411 Appoline.
A party was tendered recently in honor of Mr:-and Mrs. Morris
Kraska on their 40th wedding anniversary. Given at the Le-
Chateaw, uz . Bay • City by their children, Mr. and Mrs. Howard
Kraska, 150 guests attended from Lansing, Kalamazoo, Detroit,
Saginaw, Toledo, O., and Windsor, Ont.
After 10 weeks of travel in England, the Continent and Israel,
Miss Anna Oxenhandler, of 646 Hazelwood, has returned home.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Sommers and daughter, Bonnie, of 3785
Pasadena, will leave around the middle of December for Ann Ar-
bor, Mich., where they will make their home at 1221 MingleWood.
Mrs. Marion Stein and Mrs. Gloria Schaefer will entertain
Saturday at the latter's home on Kentucky Ave., with a Parisian
party for 70 people. All proceeds will go to the Penrickton Nursery
School for the blind. Entertainers donating their talent include
Joe Cornell, Dr. Harold Roland, Frank Biondo, the Counterpoints
and Mrs. Julia Kahn.
Rabbi Frank Rosenthal of Congregation Emanuel, Pleasant
Ridge, Michigan, will represent The Jewish Chautauqua Society
as lecturer at Hillsdale College, Hillsdale, Mich., Dec. 6. He will
deliver classroom lectures.

Sheruth Women's Spector Succeeds
Donor Luncheon Edward Rose at
Set for Wednesday Tam O'Shanter

Sheruth League will hold its
annual donor luncheon Wednes-
day afternoon, at Masonic Tem-
ple. The event enables Sheruth
to obtain funds for its major
work of carrying out a summer
camping program for under-
privileged children.
Proceeds from the 1953 donor
event provided 248 weeks of
camping at Camp Tamarack
and day camp.
In addition to
time spent at
.camp, children
were out fitted
in everythin g
from sleep to
play clothes,
states Mrs. Wil-
liam Gelb, pres-
ident.
Sheruth also
granted camp.
scholarships to Mrs. Gelb
the Michigan Society for Crip-
pled Children, Michigan Society
for Epileptic Children and Haven
Farm for Mentally Retarded
Children.
Earlier this year, the Sheruth
League dedicated its $35,000 rec-
reation lodge at Camp Tamar-
ack. This will form the nucleous
of a Sheruth League Village at
the camp site.
From proceeds of this year's
donor, members hope to add a
sleeping cabin to the lodge.
