A farewell party was given on Nov. 14, at Lachar's, by Rabbi and Mrs. Jacob Hoberman, in honor of the return to Israel of Dr. and Mrs. Ben Bar-Moshe (Kutnick). Dr. and Mrs. Bar-Moshe and their two children, noni and Naomi returned Wednesday to Kib- butz Ein Dor in the Lower Galilee. Residents of Israel since June, 1947, the couple had been visiting here for 15 months at the home of Mrs. Bar-Moshe's parents, Mr. and Mrs: Philip Levine, of Clem- ents Ave. Accompanying the Bar-Moshe family to Israel will be Dr. Bar-Moshe's mother, Mrs. Jessie Wolkin, who will remain for six months. Before residing in Israel, both Dr. and Mrs. Bar-Moshe had been active in the Hashomer Hatzair youth ,xiovement. Cynthia Fisch, October bride-elect, was feted at pre-nuptial parties given by the following hostesses: Mesdames Jack Stein, mother of the bridegroom; Dave Fisch, Nate Maxman, aunts of the bride; Mack Lieberman, Charles Helfman, cousins of the bride; Stewart Kepes, Herbert Eidelman, Eugene Weiss, Sol Wolack and Miss Ruth Levenson. Pope, sitting in the Build- ing and Zoning Court, upheld a City charge that the synagogue and. Hebrew school operated by Rabbi Isaac Small in a residen- tial area is a public nuisance and violates the zoning ordin- ances. Women's Institute Opens With Special Courses Special adult courses mark the opening of the fourth year of the Midrasha Women's Institute, according to Louis LaMed, board chairman of Midrasha, College of Jewish Studies, conducted under the auspices of the United Hebrew Schools. Organized to accommodate women who are unable to attend evening classes, the Women's Institute is open to all persons interested in advancing their Jewish studies.
