At a recent dinner party, Mr.
and Mrs. Morris W. Abramson.
of Chicago, Ill., announced the
engagement of their daughter,
Joan, to Arthur Rose, son of Mr
and Mrs. Nathan Rose, of 2688
W. Philadelphia. The bride-elect
is a graduate of the University
or Michigan. Mr.. Rose, also a
U. of M. student, is a senior in
its medical school. A December
wedding is planned.

Mr. and Mrs. Israel Sendler of Flint -.were the guests last week
of their children, Prof. and Mrs. Sidney Davidson, in Baltimore.
Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Lieberman,. of this city, are honeymoon-
ing at the Flamingo Hotel, Las Vegas, Nev.
Mr. Moishe Dworkin was recently tendered a farewell party at
the home of his mother, Mrs. Dora Dworkin, prior to his departure
for Israel. He is a member of the Habonim Workshop, which will
spend nine months in the Jewish state. In a letter from Kfa,r
Blum, he expressed thanks to the many friends who honored him
at the farewell event.
Mr. and Mrs. Myer Mandelbaum and son, .formerly of N. Mar-
tindale Ave., are now residing in their new home on Ridgedale, in
Oak Park.
Mr. and Mrs. Julius Pliskow and family have moved from
Waverly Ave., and are now in their new home at 20156 Picadilly.
Mrs. Herman Katz, of .Eastwood Ave., Oak Park, Mich., will
honor her brother, Irving Markel, with a party this week on nis
becoming a 32nd degree Masoon.

claimed nationally by President
Eisenhower and locally by Mayor
Cobo, from Nov. 14 to 23, is an
announcement by Neugarten
Medical Aid of *Plans for a pro-
posed nursery school.
In answer to a special appeal
from the Detroit Association for
Retarded Children for funds for
a day nursery school for men-
tally retarded youngsters under
the age of six, Neugarten has
pledged financial support.
Mrs. David Saks, president of
Neugarten, pointed out that
while several schools now in ex-
istence give instruction to older
retarded children, this will be
the first in the area to care for
the pre-school child.
For the past 27 years, Neugar-
ten has devoted its efforts to
c i t y wide administration o f
medical aid in physically and
mentally rehabilitating indigent
people. Its new nursery program
is intended as a continuation of

Night Banquet of Perfection
