In the beginning when the
group was organized by Mrs.
Ben Jacob, its purpose was to
supply layettes for needy moth-
ers. Now, through regular cash
gifts, clothes, shoes and dairy
products, Zedakah Club assures
survival for many needy fami-
lies.
Other services of the club are
visits to Wayne County General
Hospital and Northville State
Hospital, work at USO, contri-
butions to Mo'os Hitim fund and
other communal drives.
To help support these activi-
ties, the group sponsors an an-
nual donor luncheon, which. Will
be held this year at 12:30 p.m.,
Nov. 30, at the Sheraton Cadil-
lac Hotel.

son, executive secretary of the
Mayor's Committee on Children
and Youth, Mrs. Julian H. Kro-
lik, member of the Commission
on Community Relations and
Mrs. Bette Jenkins, Housing
Manager, Detroit Housing Com-
mission, on the panel. Chairing
the meeting, is Mrs. Samuel Lin-
den.
Albert Elazar, associate super-
intendent, United Hebrew School
will make the presentation at
next Friday's 'session, "Perspec-
tives on Israel." Mrs. David
Schachter is chairman.

Culmination Day to Mark Close
Of Congress Membership Drive

Mrs. Allan Weston, member-
ship chairman of the Women's
Division, American Jewish Con-
gress, announces that all local
chapters are currently planning
for Culmination Day, on Nov-. 17.
At that time results from
the Congress Week membership
drive, held from Nov. 10 to .17
will be announced. Assisting Mrs.
Weston in the campaign are

Columpus, A. Freeman, S. Levitt,
Theodore Powers, N. Silverstein
and E. Weitzer.
Culmination Day will see
simultaneous chaptef meetings
for special programs, at which
local leaders will outline the
aims of the AJC locally, nation-
ally and on a world-wide basis.
An address by Judge Justine
Wise Polier, national president
of the Women's Division, will,
via telephone and recordings,
highlight the meetings. Judge
Polier is the daughter of the
late Rabbi Stephen S. Wise,
founder of AJC.
