The second annual William J.
Shroder Memorial Awards will
be announced at the 23rd Gen-
eral Assembly of the Council of
Jewish Federations and Welfare
Funds in Atlantic City, Nov. 18-
21. The presentation will be
made during the closing session
on Sunday, Nov. 21. William
Rosenwald, of New Y o r k, is
chairman of the awards com-
mittee.

After six consecutive victories,
Mumford lost a non-title game
to Cooley's grid squad last Fri-
day, '7 to 0. Although they tied
U. of D. for the League title, U.
of D. will represent the West
Side in the Metropolitan cham-
pionship game tonight.
In honor of American Educa-
tion Week, Nov. 8 to 12, Mum-
ford celebrated with an open
house and tea for parents on -
Wednesday. Student Council
and the staff of the school pa-
per, the Mercury, will take place
again on Nov. 23 with special
sales of the Goodfellow edition.
The winners will be honored at
a party, and will be presented
with a "little blue jug," which
has been held since the incep-
tion of the contest in 1952 by
the Mercury staff.

Senior Judith Sanders was re-
cently named editor-in-chief of
the year book, the Centralite.
Judy is active in various school
organizations, and is on the
staff of the school paper. At a
r e c e n t meeting, prospective
members of the year book staff
were selected. Among those at-
tending were Ethel Kusnit,
Friedelle Schrier, Leba Cutler,
Ellen Steinberg, Natalie Rosen-
gard and Rochelle Klempner.

Hallowe'en party given for Leon-
ard Natinsky by several of his
friends. A scavanger hunt, ap-
ple bobbing and cider were part
of ' the festivities. Among his
guests were Selden Tachna, Dee
Jonas, Herbie Pont, Rachal Hor-
witz, Fred Fishman, Rochelle
Greenberg, Lauren Winquest and
Estelle Strayer.

tians and Jews. Mildred, along
with 'Lites Danny Docks, Marsha
Faber, John Franklin and Ro-

sixth annual High School In-
stitute for Democratic Living.
This conference, which is spon-
sored by the Round Table, at-
tempts to encourage progressive
thinking among American youth.
