Mrs. Albert A. Stern, member-
ship chairman. A social hour,
under the auspices of the Sis-
terhood, with Max Ravet as

Sokolov and Mrs. Bessie Kazis

Regular sabbath services will

Ahavas Achim Begins
Late Friday Services

In addition to regular sun-
down services each Friday, Cong.
Ahavas Achim has inaugurated
a weekly program of late serv-
ices at 9 p.m., each Friday, in
the synagogue. The youth choir,
trained by Cantor Mendel Sta-
wis, is featured at theSe serv-
ices.
A social hour follows each late
service, and will be sponsored by
various congregational members
who are celebrating birthdays,
anniversaries or their son's Bar
Mitzvah. For information, call

Parents of children attending
school will meet at 8:30 p.m.,
Thursday, at the synagogue to
form a Parent-Teachers Asso-
ciation.
The meeting, called by Rabbi
Jocob M. Chinitz, will hear re-
ports by Rabbi Joseph Hirsch,
director, and his staff, all of
whom 'have teaching experience
in either the public schools or
the United Hebrew Schools.
Guest speaker will be Albert
Elazar, associate superintendent
of the United Hebrew Schools,
who will talk on "Is Jewish Edu-
cation a Burden or a Pleasure
for Our Children." Leo Korn,
chairman of the education com-
mittee, will report to the parents.

Museum where they viewed the
Tercentenary exhibition on Jew-
ish Life and Culture in Detroit.
