A documented history on Bal-
timore Jewry is now being pre-
pared by Dr. Isaac Fein, profes-
sor of history at Baltimore He-
brew College. Individuals, pos-
sessing diaries, pamphlets, cir-
culars or other information on
early Baltimore Jewry are urged
to communicate with Dr. Fein at
the college, 1201 Eutaw Place
.The material will be carefully
handled and returned.

Mrs. Charles Lakoff, chairman
of the Jewish Community Cen-
ter music cominittee, :announces •
the establishment of the Henri-
etta A. and Setta Robinson '
Memorial Fund.
The fund was created from a
bequest left to the Center by
the late Setta Robinson, who
was active in Detroit musical
circles. The memorial fund will
enable the Center Music School
to enlarge its scholarship pro-
gram and to offer a music edu-
cation in a variety of instru-
ments.
Among the faculty of the
school will be Herbert Couf,
clarinet; Lare Wardrop, oboe;
and Edouard Kesner, violinist,
all members of the Detroit Sym-
phony Orchestra. In addition,
the regular faculty of the piano
department will continue its
teaching program.
The school is under the super-
vision of Julius Chajes, music
director of the Center. Applica-
tion for scholarships and study
may be made by calling the
music department, TR. 5-8450.
Mrs. Lakoff, also announced
the appointment of Mrs. David
Wilkus as chairman of the
Friends of the Center Symphony
Orchestra.
The organization is a group of
music lovers who by their sub-
scriptions have helped to sup-

chestra, which, under the di-
rection of. Julius Chajes, has
achieved a city-wide reputation
for excellence.
The next concert of the or-
chestra, will feature Bronislav
Gimpel, prominent violinist, who
has just completed a European
