Lovers in Maxwell Anderson's(
"Winter Set" were Betsy Wilson
and Arnie Oakum.. This excerpt
from Anderson's popular play
was presented at an assembly
explaining the work of Central's
Speech, Radio and Drama class-
es. Mort Schneider and Alvin
Sulkes announced the program.
Margaret Weisling, Phil erns,
Judy Openheim, Morris Garfin-
kel, Hershel Eptstein, Nelson
Chase, and Louis Pearl assumed
various roles.

senior class party. Harvey Kut-
insky, Carole Evintz, Dave Mos-
cow, Sheila Fiarman, Bob
Schechter, Sandy Zager, Hadar
Grenader, Lois Feldstein, and

Visiting the men at the Dear- .
born 'Veteran's Hospital recently
were six girls from Kadima BBG.
The visit with the Veterans is
part of an extensive program to
promote goodwill. Marcia Ellen-
son, Marilyn May, Elaine Gold,
Barbara Bresoff, Joyce Berman,
and Elaine Rake talked with
and brought gifts to the men.
Excitement is m ounting
among the January '55 Class as
graduation plans are taking
form. At the last 12A meeting
arrangements for a trip to
Washington were announced,
and plans were made for grad-
uation pictures and caps and
gowns. Helen Amhowitz, Ida
Nader, and Judy Panush are
paw selling senior pins.

Sea-Gull Taking
Summer Registrations

Applications for Camp Sea-
Gull, a summer camp located on
Lake Charlevoix, eight miles
southeast of Charlevoix, Mich.,
are currently being accepted by
camp director, Lewis Schulman.
The camp, which opens its sea-
son June 30 and runs through
Aug. 25, features a variety of ac-
tivities, conducted under the
supervision of Mr. Schulman and
his wife, Regene.
Mr. Schulman, who has held a
variety of positions in the camp-
ing field since 1940, is an assist-
ant professor of education at
Wayne University. Mrs. Schul-
man also has had many years
of camping experience, and is
the mother of two children, Jack
and Jo Anne.
The camp program features
waterfront activities, camperaft
trips and overnight trips, athle-
tics, horseback riding, arts and
crafts, evening programs. The
camp is situated in a pollen-free
area, and provides excellent re-
lief for children suffering from
hay fever, Mr. Schulman said.

Rehearsals are underway for
Mumford's fourth school play,
George Bernard Shaw's "Pygmal-
ion." The cast will sport British
accents for their parts. The
play will be shown Nov. 18 and
19, in the school auditorium.
Under the direction of Miss
Dorothy Patterson, the cast in-
eludes Irene B o e s k y, Dale
Schlaefer, Nora Smokler, Bluma
Sussman, Sherry Tobias, Lee
Wasser, Ken Lynn, Myrna Cohen,
Carol Zacks, Leonore Cronavich,
Bill Bascomb, Dick Gould, Bob
Binkow, Linda Lee, Rochelle Mil-
ler. Jay Keystone, Jay McNabo,
John Franklin, Ira Harris, with
Lou Stern and Ruth Lewis as
student directors.
The sum of $201.64 was collect-
ed in the recent United Nation's
bake sale, under the direction of
Lorraine Small, chairman. Half
of the proceeds went to CARE
while the rest was sent to East
York High School in Toronto
which was damaged by Hurri-
cane Hazel.
Mu.mford's football field served
as a wonderful setting for ex-
citement last Friday when the
Mustangs whipped Chadsey High
27 to 19. With both Mumford
and U. of D. High undefeated
this season, league officials will
choose between the two schools
on Monday to see which repre-
sents the West Side in the City
Metropolitan League champion-
ships. A Football Dance is
planned tonight in the school
library, under sponsorship of the
Sportsmanship and Student
Councils.
Topics recently debated by the
Current Affairs Club were "The
Proposal to Censure Sen. McCar-
thy," Larry Fishman and George
Zweig, pro, Tom Bickel and San-
ford Cohlson, con; "German Re-
armament," Dave Gelfand and
Bruce Parker, pro, Bob Lask and
!lady Lieberman, con; and "Which
Party Serves the Interests of the
People," Joseph Levin and Alice
Robbins, Democrats, and Sharon
Clancy and Phyllis Moser, Re-
publicans.
Hi-Y supervised the recent
clothing, drive, in which over
three tons of clothes were col-
lected. Heading Hi-Y are Dick
Behm, president; Roger Netzer,
veep; Dick Curry, secretary, and
Loren Smith, treasurer.

Bnai Israel Sisterhood
Fetes Its New Members

The home of Mrs. Morris
Simon, of 70 Cherokee, Pontiac,
was the scene of the annual
membership tea of the Sister-
hood of Cong. Bnai Israel, Pon-
tiac.
Mrs. Stanley Elbling, program
chairman, presented corsages to
the following new Sisterhood
members: Mesdames Elliott
Weston, Irving Gordon, Harold
Blumeno, Larry Weston, Charles
Sandomir and Leonard Cain.

Shirley Stollman, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Stollman,
4031 Leslie, will play the role of
Mme. Alvarez in "Gigi" by
Anita Loos, given by the Wayne
University Theater group.
The book was written by the
recently deceased world-renown-
ed French writer Collette. The
performances will take place
Nov. 5, 6, 11, 12 and 13. The
production is under the direc-
tion. of Gary Witt.
