Bnai Brith Lodges Plan Events for
Nov. 9 and 14 for Israel Bond Drive
Lind Brothers, billed as "one
of America's most unique sing-
ing groups," will entertain at
the second combined Bnai Brith
program, "Star Night for Israel,"
in behalf of Israel bonds, set
for Nov. 9, at 8. p.m., at Con-
gregation Bnai Moshe. Bloch,
Brandeis and Fox Lodges and
Chapters will sponsor the event,
in cooperation with the local
bond office, according to Ernest
Curtis, chairman.
The third in this series of
Bnai Brith Bond. programs,
scheduled for Nov. 14, is now
being planned by the East Side,
Frenkel, Israel, Morgenthau and
Zager Lodges and Chapters.

Dr. Priver Addresses Annual Meeting
Of Jewish Home for Aged on Oct. 24
Gus D. Newman, acting presi-
dent of the Jewish Home for
Aged, presided at the 43th an-
nual meeting of -the Home last
Sunday. - Over 250 people attend-
ed.
The guest speaker, Dr. Julian
Priver, director of Sinai Hospital,
spoke on the "Hospital and
Home Coordination and Co-
operation," and summarized
programs being developed in
other cities.
Featured on the program was
the playlet, "Mrs. Apple's
Gripes." The cast included Dr.
Benjamin D. Welling, chairman
of the recreation and occupa-
tional therapy committee, and
members of the Service Group
of the Women's Auxiliary, Mes-
dames Albert Potiker, Benjamin
Arkin, George Bass and Sam S.
Grand.
Other highlights for the
afternoon were an exhibit of
arts and crafts items made by
the residents in the Hobby Shop
and Sheltered Workshop, and a
demonstration of the occupa-
tional therapy program.

The Jewish Home for Aged
was organized 48 years ago to
accommodate a small group of
indigent and homeless aged. In
1937 it moved to its present site
in order to provide for the care
of 100 residents. At present
there are 200 residents in the
Home. Through the years, the
policy of admission was modi-
fied to provide services for the
infirm and chronically ill who

Bonds' Honor Scroll
Rabbi Morris Adler will be
presented with a special scroll,
containing the names of con-
gregants who purchase Israel
bonds in his honor, prior to his
forthcoming visit to Israel, it
was announced by Edward Rob-
inson, presentation chairman.
The scroll will be offered to
Rabbi Adler at the sabbath serv-
ices of Nov. 20, a day before
Rabbi and Mrs. Adler leave for
Israel.
