Oak Park Youngsters to Play
Trick-or-Treat for UN Cause

By the Oak-Woodser
Something new In the way of
Hallowe'en fun, along with a
constructive project is being
planned by sixth and seventh
grade students at the Paul L.
Best School, the new elementary
school constructed at Wyoming
and Northfield.
Letters were sent out last
week to all residents of the area
informing them that between
6:30 and 8 o'clock, on Oct. 29,
members of the sixth and sev-
enth grades of the school will
parade in costume from door
to door.
They will, of course, be playing
trick-or-treat. Only the treat
will not be for themselves but
for youngsters throughout the
world in less fortunate positions
than our youngsters here.
Bearing. cannisters and arm-
bands that will identify them to
residents, the youngsters will be
'collecting for the United Na-
tions Children's Fund, which will
provide milk and insure protec-
tion against disease to brothers
and sisters all over the world.
Following this bit of humani-
tarian "begging," the children
will gather at 8 p.m., in the An-
drew Jackson School, Oak Park
Blvd. and Wyoming, for a Hallo-
we'en party.
We thought the idea was ter-
rific, and join with the Best
School Principal Scott W. Street
in hoping parents will cooperate
by giving these youngsters —

What a pleasure it was to be
awakened early this week by the
sun streaming through the win-
dow! Then came the realization
that the windows had to be
cleaned and the storms put up,
the grass mowed and the lawn
prepared for winter hibernation;
Oh well, it's almost worth it.
