The Woman's Auxiliary of the
United Hebrew Schools will hold
their opening meeting at the
new Esther Berman Branch of
the United Hebrew Schools,
18945 Schaefer, at 12:30 p.m.,
Wednesday.
Mrs. Isadore Shumaker, pro-
gram chairman, announces that
the theme for the afternoon will
be Education and Dedication,
with Daniel Elazar as guest
speaker.
A skit, entitled On Tour with
Our Campers, will be presented.
Those participating are Rosalind
Radin, Marcia Kutnick, Sandra
Kutnick, Frances Novetsky, Ora
Kutnick and Elisheva Gorrelick,
students of the Schools.
New officers recently installed
are Mesdames Herman Wets-
man, president; Isadore Shu-
maker, Ruben Isaacs and Meyer
Finkel, vice- presidents; Sam
Stewart, treasurer; Meyer Stew-
art, Irving Palman, Meyer Char-
lip, Irving Rogovein arid Maurice
Diem, secretaries; Moe Dann,
auditor; and A. B. Stralser, par-
liamentarian.
Members are urged to bring
guests to view the new building.
A dessert luncheon will be

Local Pioneer Women
To Attend Ohio Parley

All 16 groups of Detroit Pio-
neer Women, headed by Council
president, Mrs. Gerson Berris,
are preparing to attend the East
Central Regional Conference
this weekend at Youngstown, O.
Delegates and guests will be
feted at a reception and buffet
supper upon their arrival. Mrs.
Michael • Michlin, of Detroit, is
chairman of the East Central
Region.
The conference will be attend-
ed by a large group of delegates
and guests who will hear several
national speakers. Billy Gold-
farb,. Labor Zionist authority,
will speak on "The Role of
Labor Zionism Today," and
Nahum Astar, Israeli's vice-con-
sul of Chicago, Ill., will speak on
"Israel in a World of Unrest."
The national board of Pioneer
Women will be represented by
Rose Kaufman and Esther Zack-
ler, who just returned from:Is-
rael with the latest news of do-
ings there.

Members of the social legisla-
tion committee of the Detroit
Section, National Council of
Jewish Women, will open its
program for the season with a
dessert luncheon at 1 p.m., Mon-
day, at the home of Mrs. Paul
Handleman, 19678 Roslyn.
"Know Your Amendments on
the November Ballot," the topic
of the afternoon, will be dis-
cussed by Mesdames Kathleen

Strauss and Benjamin Gold-
stein, followed by audience par-
ticipation. All members are

000,000 dunams of wasteland in
Israel. This land has been
transformed into life sustaining
soil on which over 600 rural set-
tlements will stand forever as
an indelible living record of the
generosity of all who have
helped make it possible.
