Leaders of Pisgah Lodge and
Chapter of Bnai Brith an-
nounce encouraging enrollment
of "Guardians of Israel" ($1,000
Israel bond buyers) to attend
the bond function, a "Night In
Israel," Sept. 15, 8 p.m., in the
Sheraton-Cadillac. Hotel. •
Drive Chair-
man Elias Gold-
berg, who also
is Israel chair-
man of the
council and
Lodge, said that
the 3,000 mem-
bers of Pisgah,
aided by the 40
Israel chairmen
all Detroit
of
lodges and
chapters, "were
Goldberg
displaying t h e
usual all-out zeal in helping to
bolster Israel's economy." Point-
ing to the pledge that Bnai
Brith President Philip Klutznick
made in Washington, that their
organization would secure $7,-
500,000 in Israel Bond sales in
1954, Goldberg said, "The suc-
cess of our initial program to
aid investments in Israel must
serve as a yardstick for other
groups throughout the country."
The highlight of a "Night In
Israel" will be the guest appear-
ance of Nahum Astar, Vice-Con-
- sul of Israel in Chicago. The dis-
tinguished Israeli archaeologist-
historian will present "Guardi-
ans of Israel" awards to all who
purchased $1.000 bonds. A set-
tler in Palestine in 1933, Astar
joined the Palestine Police Force
and later became public rela-
tions officer of the Jewish
Agency in Jerusalem. When Is-
rael attained statehood in 1948,
he joined the Israel Ministry for
Foreign Affairs as Chief Public
Relations Officer.
The Lind Brothers will provide
the musical attraction for a
"Night In Israel." For more than
10 years cantors in leading
American synagogues, the three
brothers, Murray, Phil and Dale,
have entertained audiences in
this country and in the South
Pacific in World War II.
Culminating a series of in-
formal meetings in support of
this bond selling affair, a Bnai
Brith leadership seminar is
slated for Sept. 12, 9:30 a.m., in
Hotel Detroiter. Beginning with
breakfast and lasting through
the day, the seminar will pro-
vide a testing-ground for final
arrangements for the Sept. 15
function.
In the absence of Elias Gold-

berg, who will be a ttending the
national Israel bond board of
governors meeting in New York
that week-end, Rabbi Joshua S.
Sperka and Samuel Gottlieb will
take charge of the leadership
seminar. Ben-Zion Emanuel,
I mid-west director of the Bnai
Brith Israel committee, will be
consultant.
Assisting Gold-
! berg with the
"Night In Israel"
program are
Mrs. Bernard
Goodman, Chap-
. ter chairman:

mon, lodge co-
chairman; and

Cub Scout Pack 515
To Accept Applicants

Registration for all-youth, 8 to
11, will be held by Cub Scout

Adas Shalom Synagogue. Ac-
cording to Bernard Zipser, cub-

this will be the only opportunity
available for parents to register
their youngsters in Pack 515.
In announcing the registra-
tion, Zipser also issued an appeal
to mothers of cub members to
enroll as den mothers. Those in-
