Offer Back-to-School
Aids on Children's Shoes

With• children throughout the
city preparing to return to
school next week, Morton Hack,
president of the Michigan Shoe
Retailers, has issued, in behalf
of the organization, a warning
to mothers.
Hack states that mothers are
concentrating on getting their
children outfitted for school, and
tend to overlook the fact that
the youngsters spends only 35
hours in school while spending
over 55 hours in after school and
weekend play.
He says, "Certainly, the after-
school shoes should be fully as
sturdy and as well-fitted as
school shoes. Worn-out, out-
grown, misshapen and run-over
shoes are as harmful for after-
school play as they are unsightly
for school wear."
Other suggestions offered by
Hack include measuring both
feet in the standing position and
the choice of leather soles.
