Irving Lipson was presented
with a testimonial and was given
the title of Honorary Chapter
President. Mrs. Lipson, who
served as active president in
1950-51 and again in 1953-54,
has been \active in the overall
Greater Detroit Women's Coun-
cil of Bnai Brith, and for two
years has been Israel Bond
chairman of the Council.

Circle School Classes
To Open on Sept. 8
The Workmen's Circle School
and Kindergarten will - open on
Sept. 7 for registration with
classes convening for the first
time the following day, Sept. 8.
The school is located in, the
Workmen's Circle Educational
Center, 11529 Linwood.
Both kindergarten and ele-
mentary classes are staffed with
teachers who have many years
of educational experience. Novel
equipment has just been in-
stalled in the kindergarten for
the enjoyment of the youngsters.
Elementary school classes em-
phasize both Yiddish and He-
brew and place maximum im-
portance on Jewish c u l t u r e.
School classes will open with a
project to acquaint children
with the significance of the High
Holidays and their celebration.
Bnai Brith Councils
Plan Blood Bank Rally
The Greater Detroit Bnai
Brith Men's and Women's Coun-
cils will hold their next blood
bank rally from 6 p. m. to 12
midnight, Sept. 16, at Adas Sha-
lom Synagogue.
A feature of the rally will be
the awarding of 80 prizes to
those who give their blood. Co-
chairmen of the rally are Sarah
Dorf, Charles Abram and Leo
Polk.
Marty Horowitz, proprietor of
Marty's Delicatessen, will donate
sandwiches to all donors and
nurses of the Red Cross who will
be in. attendance.

Rosaline Rosenberg to Bernard
Myer Blase was announced re-
cently by . the bride-elect's par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Sol Rosen-
berg, of 42 Elmhurst, Highland
Park, Mich. Mr. Blase is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Blase, of
133 E. Webster, Ferndale, Mich.
Miss Rosenberg, a graduate of
Highland Park High School, at-
tended the Grace Hospital School
of Nursing and is presently a
registered nurse at the hospital.
Mr. Blase is attending Wayne
University.

Detroit Miss to Attend
Hillel Summer Institute

Tyler, has been selected by
Wayne University's Hillel Foun-
dation to attend the ninth an-
nual national Hillel Summer In-
stitute at Camp Bnai Brith,
Starlight, Pa., from Sept. 1 to 10.
Part of Hillel's Leadership
Training program, the institute
annually brings together 200
student representatives from
Hillel Foundations throughout
the country for study which pre-
pares them for roles of leader-
ship in their respective schools.
The Institute theme, "Ameri-
can Freedom and Jewish Iden-
tity," will be carried out by the
institute staff, headed by Rabbi
Maurice Pekarsky,•• director of
the Hillel leadership program.
Speakers will include Philip
M. • Klutznick, Bnai Brith presi-
dent; Rabbi Arthur J. Lelyveld,
National Director of the Hillel
Foundation; and Dr. Robert
Gordis. Rabbi of the Rockaway
Park Hebrew Congregation, Belle
Harbor, New York.
