has opened an office here to fa-
cilitate handling of reparations
cargoes and shipbuilding con-

to alumni chapters throughout
the United States at the na-
tional fraternity convention be-
ing held here Sept. 1 to 4.
While members hold business
sessions at the Statler Hotel,
their wives will be entertained
by members of the local Sigma
Alph Mu Women's Auxiliary. In-
cluded in the women's activities
will be a luncheon at Devon
Gables, a shopping tour of the
Northland Center and a trip to
Greenfield Village.

A regal gown of chantilly-rose
lace over pink and a flowing tier
pleated train was Marilyn Joyce
Gordon's choice for her marriage,
Aug. 14, to Dr. Norman Robert
Schakne. The pair spoke their
vows at a candelight ceremony
at Holiday Manor.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Hyman B. Gordon
of Santa Barbara Drive. The
bridegroom's parents a r e Mr.
and Mrs. Harold R. Schakne of
Monica Avenue.
The scalloped Elizabethan
neckline was appliqued with lace
and sprinkled with jewels which
extended on to the bodice. The
skirt bore a front panel of tiered
pleats and was enveloped with
scalloped lace panels which were
repeated in the back. These ex-
tended into a two and one half
yard train. Her high jeweled
crown held a three tiered appli-
qued veil. The bride carried a
white Bible adorned with white
orchids.
The matron of honor was Mrs.
George N. Gordon of Skokie, Ill.
The maid of honor was Miss
Arlene Kollenberg. Mrs. Stanley
Trains of Adrian, Mich., and
Miss Bernice Katzman of Wind-
sor, Ontario, were the brides-
maids.
Mr. George N. Gordon of Sko-
kie, Ill., was best man. The bride-
groom's ushers were Dr. Stuart
Barak, Dr. Abner Ragins, Dr.
Jean Rosenbaum, and Dr. Ed-
ward Treisman, all of Detroit,
and Bernard L. Levy of Evanston,
