Settle. Israel - Arab Complaint's at Two
Meetings of Armistice Commissions
JERUSALEM, (JTA) — More
than 1,30C complaints and coun-
ter complaints by Israel and
Egypt, some of them dating back
to 1952, were settled without
voting by the Israel-Egyptian
Mixed Armistice Commission, at
a meeting at Auja.
The meeting rejected an
Egyptian interpretation of the
armistice agreement on civilians
crossing the demarcation lines.
Lt. Col. Bertholdy, United Na-
tions chairman on the commis-
sion, joined the Israeli repre-
sentatives in voting that such
crossings by civilians constitutes
a violation of the armistice pact.
De Jordan-Israel Mixed Arm-
istice Commission, in an emer-
gency meeting determined that
Israel "flagrantly" violated the
Jordan-Israel armistice agree-
ment in an incident during the
night- of July 31.
On that date, the Commission
held, a unit of armed Israelis
penetrated about five kilometers
into Jordanian territory at Jenin,
and there carried out a "well-
planned attack," resulting in the
and killing of one Jordanian
guard, the wounding of a Jor- -
danian policeman, and the ab-
duction of another Jordanian
policeman.
The resolution adopted by the
Commission requested the chief
of staff of the UN truce super-,
vision organization to demand
from tlit- Israel authorities the
Immediate return of the ab-
ducted policeman. The resolu-
tion also called on Israel auth-
orities Yto prevent such and
other acts of aggression, and to
respect the armistice agreement

1Sellout of Israel's Freedom for Oil.
Charged by Morse on. Senate Floor
WASHINGTON, (JTA) — Sen.
Wayne Morse, Oregon Indepen-
dent, sharply criticized adminis-
tration policies in the Near East
and charged that some U. S. of-
ficials apparently are willing to
"trade the freedom of the people
of Israel for Arabian oil."
Sen. Morse told the Senate
that,, since Secretary of State
Dulles' visit to the Near East,
the administration has been
"trying to win the friendship
of the Arab states at the expense
of Israel."
The Senator made known that
the new foreign aid bill contains
only a "mere pittance" for
Israel. He said he has been as-
sured that Israel would get about
$40,000,000, considerably less
than in previous years—but even
this reduced amount has not
been firmly specified.
Sen. Morse reminded the Sen-
ate that the United States and
other free countries, as a result
of the Nazi persecution of Jewry,
