sional magazines and digests.
The library will be part of a
medical center which will in-
clude the college of medicine and
the State Neuropsychiatric Hos-
pital, costing $3,500,000.
The entire project greatly ex-
pands the medical school's pre-
sent facilities, and, when com-
pleted, will be bounded by Hast-
ings. Rivard; Clinton and Mullett
Streets, in the Gratiot-Orleans
Redevelopment Project.
. In addition to Mrs. DeRoy's
gift, $160,000 has been contri-
buted to the building by the
medical alumni, with $65,000
pledged as the balance.
Mrs. DeRoy, one of the com-
munity's leading philanthropists,
contributed $190,000 towards the
construction of the Woodward
Jewish Center. That gift marked
the largest single contribution
given by a living person for a
local Jewish cause.
Mrs. DeRoy continues her in-
terest in the Center movement
by furthering the Tamarack
project, the new Jewish Center
camping site where the Helen
DeRoy Village will be dedicated
on Aug. 25.

Two From Community
In Wayne 11 Workshop

Larry Sturman, a pre-medical
student, and Robert Jaffin, a
business administration enrollee,
are two Wayne University stu-
dents who presently are attend-
ing the university's summer ra-
dio-TV workshop, under the di-
rection of Frank Bauwsma and
Robert Kidder.
Both young men are learning
the fundamentals of announc-
ing, acting, production and en-
gineering at the workshop, and
are looking forward to doing
shows, which are aired over
WDET, Wayne's own radio sta-
tion, as part of their advanced
traiinng.
In expanding the scope of the
overall program, the Wayne ra-
dio department has invited the
entire student community to
participate as well as students
interested only in radio broad-
casting. WDET is a completely
student-operated venture.
