Michigan Bell Cooperates
On Listing with Council
Culminating a series of dis-
cussions with Jewish Commun-
ity Council leaders, the Michi-
gan Bell Telephone Company
has advised that the next issue
of the Yellow Pages will not in-
clude Cong. Mogen David Taber-
nacle, Sheep of Israel, Inc. in its
listing of Jewish congregations.
This decision was reached
when it was pointed out by
Council officials that the taber-
nacle is not a Jewish house of
worship, but a conversion mis-
sion of an unaffiliated Christian
sect.
Recognizing that the listing
posed a valid problem, Michigan
Bell made an exception of its
customary policy of not "polic-
ing" the classified listings.
The tabernacle henceforth
will be listed under another
category in the directory.
