Sheila Pevner, of Northlawn Ave., was honored recently at a
-sweet sixteen luncheon, given for her at Menjo's. There were 35
friends and members of her family in attendance.

Mr. Frank Keywell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Keywell,
' former Detroiters, now of Los Angeles, Calif., was awarded his
PhD degree in physics at the recent commencement exercises of
the University of Southern California.
Robert Golden, son of Mr. and Mrs. Perce Golden, former
Detroiters, now of Miami Beach, Fla., was one of a few outstand-
ing students chosen to attend Florida Boys State, at Tallahassee,
the state capitol. The Goldens, after meeting Robert in Talla-
hassee, at the end of the sessions, left for Detroit. They will stay
her as the guests of their sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
David Weisberg.
Mrs. Sam Elkowitz, newly-elected president of East Side Chap-
ter, Bnai Brith, honored her officers and board members at a
recent luncheon at Kormendy's, at which plans for the coming
year were discussed.
Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Lezell, of this city, are leaving today for a
month's visit in Europe. On their itinerary are stops in Israel,
Rome, Paris and England. They were entertained extensively
before their departure.
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Lazaroff and children, Gary, Neil and
Joyce, of St. Louis, Mo., have arrived here to celebrate the 40th
anniversary of their parents and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Morris Friedman, of Whitcomb Ave., on Monday. Among the en-
tertainments planned is a garden party at home of the Fried-
man's children, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Cohen, of Lincoln or., Hunt-
ington Woods, Mich. Besides the Lazaroffs and the Cohens, the
Friedmans' four other children and grandchildren will be in
attendance, among them Mr. and Mrs. Isadore Chaiken and Mir-
iam and Rochelle; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Friedman and Susan Lynn,
and Obbie and Lorraine Friedman, The Cohens, who will be hosts
to the Lazaroffs during their stay here, have two children, Ken-
neth and Rosann. Mr. and Mrs. FriedMan were married. July 4,
-1914.
Mr. and Mrs. Dan Greenberg (Joyce Landsberg), and daughter,
Debra Lynn, formerly of Evanston, Ill., are now making their
home on Greenlawn Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Vova and sons, Philip and Sammy,
former Detroiters now of Miami, Fla., are in town for a short visit
with their family here. They are staying with their sisters and
brothers ; Mr. and Mrs. Newton S. Jackson and Mr. and Mrs. Harry
Katz, of 13203 Monica.
Rabbi N. Rothenberg, dean and founder of the Yeshivath
Chachmey Lublin, left last Sunday for a visit in Jerusalem, Israel.
While there, he will be a delegate to a convention of Orthodox
rabbis in that city.
