Bernard Ryback to Wed Aleichem Institute to
Girl from Brooklyn
Honor Meyer Wesley

Sholem Aleichem Institute
will honor the 70th birthday of
Meyer Wesley, of Freeland Ave.,
at a program this evening, at
the Institute, 18495 Wyoming.
Born in 1884 in Mogilover,
Russia, Mr. Wesley came to this
country in 1906, shortly after-
wards moving to Detroit. He
first affiliated with Workmen's
Circle, Poale Zion and then Sho-
lem Aleichem Institute, in which
he has been active since the
days it was called the Impartial
Folk School.
The Wesleys' two children are
Benjamin Wesley and Mrs. Es-
ther Beck. Mrs. Beck, who re-
sides in California, was one of
the first Institute graduates.
Benjamin Wesley's two children,
David and Judy, also are Insti-
tute graduates and are leaders
of Habonim.
All of Meyer Wesley's asso-
ciates and friends are invited
to attend today's program. in
his honor.

Bernard is a graduate of
Brooklyn College, which his

presently is enrolled at the uni-

daughter, Marilyn Joyce, to Dr.
Norman R. Schakne, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Harold Schakne, of

The bride-elect is a graduate
of the University of Michigan.
Dr. Schakne also graduated
from U. of M., and received his
medical degree from the Wayne
University college of medicine.
He is affiliated with Phi Sigma
Delta and Phi Lambda Kappa
fraternities.
The couple plan to wed on
Aug. 4.

offices for the Norwest Realty

The move ,was necessitated by
an expansion program of the
firm, which deals in all phases

homes, multiple dwellings, busi-

Clover Lodge Opens
Season at Omena, Mich.

Entertainment, excellent food,
trained children's counsellors
and a cheerful and courteous
staff are only a few of the fine
features of Clover Lodge, popu-
lar northern
resort,
which opens its season today.
Among the unusual features
of the resort, located at pollen-
free Omena, Mich., on Grand
Traverse Bay, will be the debut
of an original "Straw Theater,"
composed of members of World
Stage, who will present one-act
plays by Noel Coward, Strind-
berg, Chekhov and others. All
the entertainers are experienced,
having played repertory com-
panies in Detroit.
Beach parties, square dancing,
games and cabaret nights, fea-
turing Joan Ellen Erman, vocal-
ist, who has starred in Wayne
University and University of De-
troit productions, are also plan-
ned for Clover Lodge guests.
On the staff will be Moishe
Dworkin, boy's counselor, who,
following the summer season at
Clover Lodge, will leave for Is-
rael with a Habonim group. He
has had extensive training in
recreational and leadership ac-
tivities, and has planned a pro-
gram of sports, arts and crafts
and social events to delight all
youngsters.
Rosalyn Yarost, another chil-
dren's counselor, plans to enter
medical school in the fall. She
also has had much experience
in recreational activities with
young people, and will lead an
arts and crafts program.
