Emanuel Isaacs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Isaacs, of 18975
Robson, received his master's degree in history last weekend from
the University of Michigan. In the fall, Mr. Isaacs will continue
his studies at U. of M., working for a doctorate in history and
ing research work on the subject.
Dr. Harry A. Heller, former Detroiter, was graduated June 6
from the Chicago College of Osteopathy. Dr. and Mrs. Heller and
children will make their home here at 16624 Parkside after July 1.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Zeldes, of 3378 Richton, will honor the
graduation of their son, Elliott A., from Wayne University's college
of liberal arts where he was an industrial design major at a
reception for 60 people this Sunday, at the family home.
Mr. and Mrs. Royal A. Oppenheim, of Wellesley Dr., announce
the graduation of their daughters, Patricia Joyce from the
University of Michigan, and Valerie Gail from the Liggett School.
Both girls attended the latter school for 12 years.
Attending the 16th Alumni University last week at the Uni-
versity of Michigan were Edith Bergman, Mrs. J. C. Blumenthal,
Mrs. Warren G. Brown, Rosemary B. Coggan, Mrs. Helen R. Eiges,
Anne Farbman, Evelyn S. Landau, Marjory Kurtzman Raskin,
Ruth Simons and Gertrude Millman. They witnessed the cere-
monies at which Haile Selassie, Emperor of Ethiopia, was awarded
an honorary degree by U. of M.
Mr. and Mrs. - Max P. Niskar, of 4038 Glendale, announce the
graduation of their daughter, Sharon Lynn, from the Wayne
University college of education.
Mrs. Max Reiner, of 18003 Northlawn, recently returned from
a two-month trip to Europe in Israel. In the Jewish state, she•
was reunited with her two sisters whom she hadn't seen for 40
years. On her itinerary were stops in Rome, Lisbon, Florence and
Paris.
Norman R. Schakne, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schakne, of
Monica Ave., 'was one of 65 graduates of the Wayne University
Medical School to receive the degree of Doctor of Medicine in
ceremonies held Thursday.

election on Aug. 3.
. Announcement was made this
week that AFL Local 409 will
honor Judge Kaufman at a din-
ner on June 30 at Silver Crown
Ballroom on Eight Mile Road.
Former U.S. Senator Blair
Moody will be toastmaster.
Friends of Judge Kaufman

to Detroit's voters to register
prior to July 6 at the City Hall.
Local stations will be open for
registration on June 30, July 1
and 2.
It is also urged that those
who will be out of the city on

once for absentee ballots by

man will attend a conference in
Washington, June 28-30, called
by the Department of Health
and Welfare — children's divi-
sion — to discuss methods of
curbing juvenile ' delinquency.
