Melvin Seidman James Mason Appears At Canadian Festival Demand for tickets for the Stratford Shakespearean Festi- val of 1954 promised to match if not to p the 1953 season. As early as six months ahead, ticket requests have come from 13 American States and nine Canadian provinces. From Washington, D.C. is a bulk re- quest for the two opening nights to be attended by a group of over 100 people, including critics of the four leading Washington papers. Detroit and Windsor have made arrangements to ship bus- loads to Stratford, commandeer- ing seats for performances throughout the entire season. The festival performa n c e s open on June 28 with "Measure for Measure," directed by Cecil Clarke, followed on June 29 by "The Taming of the Shrew" di- rected by Tyrone Guthrie. "Oedipus Rex," also directed. by Guthrie, is scheduled to open July 15.
