NORTHLAND
CONCOURSE
We Never Shall Surrender
By N. E. ARONSTAM, M. 0.
We never shall surrender,
_Let them rage and rave;
We'll - tear our bonds asunder
And burst our living grave.
The bonds of slaves and serfdom
Wherein we lived and languish;
Forsooth they call us rebels
For striking in our anguish!
We never shall surrender!
We'll rend their coward's mask
From off our tear-stained vision,
And face the fateful task.
We challenge their contention,
And thus we shall declare:
"To win is our intention
We'll grapple and we'll dare!
We'll neither cringe nor cower
At vapid threats of knaves;
We'll break their granite dun-
geons
And free the shackled slaves.
We vow: we shall, we must not
In justice lies our trust;
So let them rave and rage and
rail
We know our cause is just!"
