Folk Schools to Memorialize
Treasurer, Samuel Taxey

At the last meeting of the
board of the United Jewish Folk
Schools, plans were proposed for
creating a suitable memorial
honoring Mr. Samuel Taxey,
treasurer of the school board for
many years, who passed away on
April 21 .
A resolution "expressing deep-
est sympathy" to his children,
Mr. and Mrs. Boris Katz and
Dr. and Mrs. Norman Drachler,
also was passed. Mr. Taxey was
one of the first members of Far-
band and Poale Zion, and was
an ardent worker for Histadrut,
Jewish National Fund, Habonim
and Skverer Society.

House Pays Tribute
To Late Judge Dickstein

House of Representatives grant-
ed time for members to express
tribute to the late Samuel Dick-
stein, who died last month in
New York. He served in that
body for 22 years.
Rep. John W. McCormack, of
Massachusetts, told of the value
of Judge Dickstein's leadership
against Nazism and Communism.
Judge Dickstein also was lauded
by Rep. Noah M. Mason, of Il-
linois, and New -York Represen-
tatives Eugene J. Keogh, Arthur
G. Klein, Abraham Multer, and
Jacob K. Javits.
