Proposed Anti-Mission
Laws Denied by Israel

.

WASHINGTON, (JTA) - The
Embassy of Israel denied reports
in the American press alleging
that Israel is proposing legisla-
tion directed against parents
who send their children to mis-
sion schools or against the
schools themselves.
The charges, now being spread
in the United States, said the
embassy spokesmen, are purely
speculative. Israel's government
has no such legislation before
it.
The facts are that as a result
of strong public feeling against
the reported use by certain mis-
sionaries of economic lures to
further their objectives, a Knes-
set subcommittee was set up to
establish the facts, This sub-
committee presented its report
some time ago.
