House of Shelter
Provides Passover
Meals for Homeless

Since the early days of the
Jewish House of Shelter, the
Ladies Auxiliary has provided
kosher food during Passover and
High Holidays for men who are
hospital patients on leave from
Wayne County General Hospi-
tal and inmates of the Wayne
County Jail and the Detroit
House of Correction. During the
past few years hospital patients
from Ypsilanti State Hospital
and Northville have enjoyed the
hospitality of the House of
Shelter during the holiday pe-
riods.
It is expected that 40 men will
participate in the Sedorim which
will take place in the social hall
of Beth Tefilo Emmanuel, Taylor
and Woodrow Wilson. During
Passover the men will be served
two mealS a day at the syna-
gogue. During this period they
will stay at the House of Shelter,
1620 Taylor.
Funds to make possible this
yearly activity are provided by
the Allied Jewish Campaign.
The House of Shelter is a mem-
ber agency of the Jewish Wel-
fare Federation.
