Thomas Mitchell, portraying a jeweler in Casablanca, brings the big moment into the life of a homeless boy, played by Stevie Roberts (picture above) in a scene from "The Big Moment." Mitchell catches the boy steal- ing, but turns him over to Joint Distribution Committee officials, instead of police. In picture at top right, Robert Mitchum points to a hot-spot on Israel's border where Arab marauders wreak daily havoc. Dean Denies Frats Use Of Religious Records Academy award winner Donna Reed and John Derek play pioneers in an Israel border settlement, in one of the four sequences in "The Big . Moment," which relates in dramatic fashion how funds contributed by community campaign- ers through the UJA make possible "big mo- ment." Donna's big moment is the realization that the Israel border is a fence that keeps freedom in and not like the barbed wire of the .concentration camp in which her father died. The German delegation has returned and is reporting to the German Foreign Ministry and other government departments. When the German-Israel re- parations pact was signed, it was agreed that Israel would pay compensation to the Tem- plars from the reparations total. At that time it was agreed that if the two parties could not agree on the amount of com- pensation within nine months after . negotiations began, a Scandinavian monarch would be asked to mediate. The talks began eight months ago. It is now up to the Ger- mans to decide whether they wish to continue the talks or call in a mediator. The 48-foot mural titled, "The Ideals of Judai s m," dedicated at the Bnai Brith Hillel Foundation Building at Pennsylvania State University. The mural is dominated by three figures, Moses, Rabbi Hillel, the gentle sage of the first century BCE and a con- temporary teacher. These represent respectively the particular and universal applications of Jewish teachings. Standing beside the painting are Rabbi Benjamin M. Kahn, Director of the Penn State Bnai Brith Hillel Foundation, and the painter, Antoineta Terrazas Maluenda, a Chilean art student of the Roman Catholic faith, who is attending the university. Prior to undertaking the mural, Miss Terrazas studied Jewish history, religion and culture for two months under the guidance of Rabbi Kahn.
