Shechitah was reinstated by the Allies in 1946 to permit the killing of.fowl and cattle accord- ing to Jewish ritual. If this de- cree were now rescinded, the Nazi anti-Shechitah law of April 1933 would, in the view of cer- tain German experts, be auto- matically reinstated. This con- tention is based on the argu- ment that the Nazi law was a humane and not an anti-Jewish measure. The Conference of German Rabbis holds that the repeal of all Nazi legislation applies with particular force to Hitler's first anti-Jewish law, namely pro- hibition of Shechitah. Aside from the untenability of the al- legations against it, the Jewish mode of slaughtering is protect- ed by virtue of the Constitution- al safeguards against religious discrimination, Friday, April 9, 1954 Branch Seven, Labor Zionist Organization, will meet Sunday evening, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Irving Greenberg, 4014 Duane.
