MRS. PHILIP SALOMON

In a recent double-ring cere-
mony at Adas Shalom Syna-
gogue, Lenore Shelia Swartz,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George
Robbins, became the bride of
Philip Saloinon, son of Mr. and
Mrs. William Salomon. Rabbi
Jacob E. Segal and Cantor Nich-
olas Fenakel officiated.
The bride chose a gown of
candlelight skinner satin, feat-
uring appliques of lace and
hand-embroidered seed pearls,
and ending in a long, court
train. Her fingertip length veil
was fastened to a tiara of
matching seed pearls and iri-
descent beads.
The bridegroom's sister, Sarah
ruerisen, was matron of honor,
and Reva Wilson was maid of
honor. Bridesmaids included
Phyllis Ezrach, Jacqueline Mil-
ler, Loretta Miller and Elaine
Salomon. The bride's twin cous-
ins were bridesmaids.
Harry Gordon was best man,
and ushers were the bride's
brothers, Sheldon Swartz and
Merton Robbins, the bride-
groom's brother, Harry Solomon,
and Paul Katzman.
Following dinner and a re-
ception, t h e newlyweds left for
a honeymoon in Miami Beach,
Fla. They now are residing on
Ewald Circle.

Two 12B parties highlighted
the week, one at the home of
Helen Amhowitz, the other at
the home of Winnie Gooze.
Some of those attending at
Helen's home Were Marian Glie-
berman, Ethel Feldman, Paul
Schreibman, Bob Shiff, Leon Da-
ter. Jerry Greenbaum, Eugene
Driker, Elaine and Eleanor Blau,
Diane Freed, Deanne Karnoff,
Phyllis Clark, Fred Bassoff and
Noel Lawson.
At Winnie's house were Elliot
Freedman, Aaron Goldstein, Ja-
net Levenson, Suzie Bushkin,
Jerome Steiner, Bev Usher, San-
ford Wald, Harold Lipsitz, Rae
Jean Blatnikoff, Morry Bed-
marsh, Harvey Dubinsky, Lor-
raine Jaslow, Minnie Krekin and
Leon Dater.
The Board of Education gives
stenographic, intelligence and
bookkeeping tests to seniors
whose work in high school mer-
its a good job after graduation.
Those representing Central were
Edna Zucker,• Esther Margolis,
Doris Applebaum, Loretta Kan-
tor and Marilyn Edelstein.
Phil Burns and Carole Karp
appeared on WDTR's School
Spotlight, a program honoring
Stephen Foster.
Nine Centralites won prizes in
the recently held Scholastic
Writing Contest, sponsored ' by
The Detroit News. Erna Kam-
merman, Dotty Laker, Bev
Steinberg, Evelyn Siporin, Shar-
on Slobin and Esther. Margolis
won honorable mentions. Judy
Tendler was awarded a gold key.
Sharon Rosenthal and Barbara
Gaines won certificates for their
fashion designs.
The campaign for the "54
Centralite has begun. The year-
book, complete with white leath-
er cover, will be $2. Candid
photographs of the student in
classes and in extra-curricular
activities will be highlighted.

A model seder will highlight
an open meeting of Ahavas
Achim Youth Group 7:30 p.m.,
April 13, in the synagogue hall.
The entire Youth Group will
take part in the seder. Officers
of the group will have speaking
parts.
It will be directed by Mrs.
Jacob Chinitz, Mrs. Richard
Burns and Mrs. Irwin Leviant.

Appropriate foods will be served
by a committee led by Mrs. Bar-
ney Zatkoff. The Men's Chia,
Sisterhood, congregation mem-
bers and members of the Sun-
day school and their friends are
invited.

`Garden of Eden Malaga Wine' Brought
From Safad for Distribution in Detroit

Michigan this week was added
to seven other states where
`Garden of Israel Malaga Wine,"
an established S a f a d, Israel,
product, will be sold.
Ititroduced in this country by
Crystal Wine Co. of Chicago,
this product will be distributed
in Detroit by the National
Wholesale Grocers, 8938 12th St.
Abraham Sharp, head of the De-
triot distributing company,
stated this week that approxi-
mately 40 Jewish-owned stores
which have wine and beer
licenses already are selling, this
wine.
"I am happy to have been able
to make this available to De-
troit Jewry in time for Pass-
ever," Mr. Sharp said.
Other states where "Garden
Of Eden Malaga Wine" is avail-
able are Illinois, Minnesota,
Ohio, Indiana, Kansas, Missouri,
and Pennsylvania.

Wisconsin Ave., announce the
