TO, 9-1588,

A number of active boys and
girls, frequently mentioned in
these columns, are now busily
engaged in planning a confer-
ence that should prove of in-
terest to all youth groups.
The conference will deal with
getting along in a community
no matter to what Temple, Syn-
agogue or Church one may be-
long. It will be held at 3:30 p.m.,
Sunday, at the Woodward Jew-
ish Center,
The conference is being plan-
ned by a joint committee made
up of representatives of Cath-
olic, Protestant and Jewish
youths who include Ruth Lewis,
Ann and Larry Pernick, Linda
Schwartz, Leon Olshansky and
Mary Schpeiser.
At Berkley High an entirely
different activity is going on.
The male faculty of the high
school has organized a basket-
ball team which has proved to
be very entertaining to the stu-
dents.
"The Ides of March" was cele-
brated by the Latin classes of
Berkley with a banquet held in
the high school cafeteria last
week. The Latin IV classes spon-
sored the banquet and were
masters over the Latin II class-
es who were slaves.
The slaves dressed in short
dark, drab costumes and the
masters wore long, white flow-
ing gowns. The costuming went
on throughout the school day
and the evening of the banquet.
The slaves ate their dinner with
little silverware and on the
floor, while the masters had all
the comforts of modern dining.
Among those participating were
Ronnie Onkin, Mike Sklar and
Judy Stutz.
