p.m., Sunday, in the Davison
Jewish Center, when Mrs. Valia
Hirsch, national secretary of
Americans for Progressive Israel

The organization, formed in

ments and has offered other

physical.
All interested persons are in-
yited to attend the program.

CHICAGO, (JTA) Trygve
Lie, former Secretary General
of the United Nations, said
here that he feels there will
be no new war between the
Arab states a n d Israel be-
cause the Arabs realize they
have nothing to gain.
Lie predicted that border
friction and political dissen-

other reason why he didn't

Holman Asked to Quit
In Board Reversal

In a surprise move last week,
the New York Board . of Higher
Education reversed a decision
reached the preceding week by
its own trial committee, and
found Nat Holman, CCNY bas-
ketball coach and the idol of
millions of sports-minded Amer-
icans, guilty of negligence in the
basketball "fix" charges of a
few years ago.
Holman, shaken by the deci-
sion which gives him the privi-
lege of resigning on a pension
of $2,500 or dismissal, said he
will appeal the decision to the
State Education Commissioner
or the State Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, in all quarters of
New York City and throughout
the country, newspaper colum-
nists, sports figures and just
plain citizens rallied to his de-
fense.
Among Holman's support
ers was the CONY campus daily,
which claimed the decision was
"an act of pure vengeance,"
While another college daily
called it "a manifestation of the
neurotic justice which is inevi-
table when real culprits sits as
judge, jury and hangman."
