In cooperation with Congre-
gations Adath Shalom, Beth
Aaron and Bnai Moshe, the
United Hebrew Schools are con-
ducting special classes for girls,
to supplement their Sunday
School training with a more in-
tensive Hebrew program.
L The aims of these classes are
to teach the girls Hebrew read-
ing so that they may follow the
services in a synagogue, to teach
the chants of prayers and a
functional Hebrew vocabulary.
At present, there are approxi-
mately 54 girls in the Bnai
Moshe classes, 76 at Beth Aaron
and 180-„at Adath Shalom. Girls
attend the special classes twice
a week. Attendance is a require-
ment for confirmation.
There also are special classes
for girls whose parents are not
directly affiliated with any con-
gregation. Thus a large number
of girls are now receiving a
Hebrew training and prepara-
tion for synagogue services.
There are many girls in at-
tendance at the regular Hebrew
School program available to
both boys and girls four ar five
times during the week, in all
regular classes.
Parents interested in enrolling
girls in Hebrew School classes
or special classes for girls, are
urged to call TO. 8-0063.

A stinging rebuke was admin-

Inez Robb, writing of the
