FOR TEEN AGE SET ONLY! Shampoo and Styling Haircuts Urges 'Charity at Home' For Hospital Patients • Editor, The Jewish News, We read much of the efforts being made in Detroit for an institution located over 3,000 miles away in California. How- ever, we should not overlook conditions right here in Michi- gan. A few members of the Michi- igan Legislature are constantly trying to hurt the sick, the weak and the defenseless. Last year a Detroit newspa- per fought a hard battle against a vicious bill against crippled children that would compel fam- ilies to exist on a minimum sub- sistence standard until hospital bills were paid to the state. Now, the Legislature is plan- ning to throw out from its state hospitals mental patients, many of whom will be exploited, oth- ers who will again menace so- ciety. It may be well to remind some individuals that there are mem- bers of the Jewish faith among the insane, the crippled and the sick men, women and children in Michigan state-operated hos- pitals, We should all let our State Senators and Representatives know that these unfortunate people in our state institutions, regardless of race, religion or color, will not be expendibles as long as the American flag flies high, Let's make the state of Michi- gan the "State of Hope" for these lost souls. —HUMANITARIAN. $1.50 Hot Oil Cap Treatment Our Letter Box Judge Charles Rubiner has been named to the board of directors of the Detroit Bar As- sociation to fill one of two va- cancies caused by the death of Myron Keys and the resignation of Robert E.
