Bonn Bundestag Votes
To Outlaw Genocide

BONN, (JTA) — The West
German government will out-
law a crime which was ori-
ginated by Germany — the
crime of genocide. The Bund-
estag, Lower House of Parlia-
ment, with all parties speak-
ing in favor, has given un-
animous consent to the first
reading of a bill adopting the
United Nations Convention on
Genocide.
Technical changes in the
text suggested by Prof. Raph-
ael Lemkin, "father" of the
convention, to the chairman
of the Bundestag Foreign Re-
lations Committee, w i 1 1 be
considered by the appropriate
committees.
