Leads to Death of 2

The case for mixed marriages
was dealt a severe blow here
last week when an argument
between a Jewish woman and
her Lutheran husband led to
the death of their two children.
The mother, Mrs. Florence
Dalton, following arguments
over the religious education of
the couple's two children, David,
10, and Shirley, 5, beat the
youngsters to death and then
attempted to take her own life.
Questioning of the 34-year-old
woman is pending her recovery.
The couple had been discussing
the prbblem of educating their
children, whom Mrs. Dalton said
she wanted to raise in the Jew-
ish faith.
Evidentally, the subject was
discussed at length, but no con-
clusions reached. Dalton stated
that since his wife spoke to her
mother about the religious edu-
cation of their children, she had
been nervous and upset.
She told attendants at Red-
ford Receiving Hospital that "I
put my children to sleep because
I didn't want them to suffer."
