Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Kalt and sons, Allan, Harold and Steven,
left for California to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their per-

Mr. and Mrs. Bernhardt Salomon, of Oakman Blvd., celebrated
their 30th wedding anniversary in Chicago, Ill., last week.
Private Sidney R. Cohen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Cohen
of Santa Barbara, was sworn in as an attorney on Jan. 7, at
Veterans' Memorial Building while on leave from Fort Knox, Ken-
tucky, where he is stationed.
The works of Marjorie Hecht, Frances Quint, Jeanne Schway-
der and Anna Werbe have been selected for the Annual Michigan
Artists Exhibit at the Art Institute.
Mr. and Mrs. Saul Baron, of 2737 Richton, recently had astheir

and Illana, who are visiting from Ramat Yochanan, Israel. While
here, Mr. Kaminker attended the Habonim convention.
Mr. and Mrs. Alfred A. Helfgott, of 24241 Moritz, Oak Park,
were recently surprised at their home with a party on the occasion
of their silver wedding anniversary. Among the guests were the

Mrs. Harold Merritt, Louis E. Hirschman, Dr. and Mrs. Harold A.
Maxmen, Dr. and Mrs. David M. Levin and the Milton Weinsteins.
Participating also was their daughter, Miss Lue Helfgott. Another
daughter, Sylvia, has returned to the University of Connecticut
after spending the recent holiday vacation with them.

satin and chantilly lace. The lace
bodice was fashioned with an

cented with pearl and sequin
motifs. A princess cap of match-
ing lace secured her tiered veil
of silk illusion.
Mrs. Bernard Levin was ma-
tron of honor, and Dr. Saul Rose,

Deficit of Jewish Hospital
BERLIN, (JTA) — The only
Jewish hospital in Germany will
continue to exist for the time
being, thanks to the city govern-
ment's temporary assumption of
the hospital's $100,000 deficit.
The hospital, with 400 beds
and a staff of 250, can look back
upon a great healing tradition.
It was the only Jewish institu-
tion in. Germany able to con-
tinue operations, albeit amid
constant harassment and on a
severely restricted scale,
throughout the Nazi regime.

County at this week's elections
of that group. Norman L. Berk-
ley, past department comman-
der, was elected president of
AVC, and Vernon S. Palmer, a
member of the Sgt. Morton A.
Silverman Post, was chosen first
vice-president.
AVC comprises 20 veteran's
organizations in Wayne County
and represents close to 400 posts
of the various groups. It is a co-
ordinating organization which
also maintains a veterans serv-
ice and rehabilitation program
and is active in child welfare
