IN MEMORIAM

To our beloved wife and mother who left us the
16th day in Shevat 1953.

DORA LIBERMAN

It is sweet to remember a beloved one so dear
Though absent from us she is ever so near,
Unseen by the world she stands at our side
And whispers "My loved ones, death cannot ditide."
Sadly missed by her husband Simon
and her son Murray.

Card of Thanks

On behalf of my entire family, I wish to express

our sincere appreciation to the Menorah Chapel, Rabbi
Joshua S. Sperka and his staff for the dignified, friendly,
professional services rendered to us in our recent be-
reavement at the loss of our beloved Mother,

MRS. JENNIE FROSH

of blessed memory.

We are particularly grateful to Rabbi Sperka for
his personal attention to every detail and the reverend
and refined manner in which he handled all the ar-
rangements.
It was comforting to have services during the
Shivah at my home. The Menroah Chapel provided us
with prayer books, Taleysim, and Tfilin, with Rabbi
Sperka leading the service.
My family will long cherish the memories of kind-
ness and sympathy shown us at a time when it was most
genuinely needed.

Wassermann's Death

FRANKFURT, (JTA) — Ger-
man publications carried essays
and literary appraisalS recalling
the death, 20 years ago, of Jakob
Wassermann, the great novelist,
who throughout a productive
life labored to prove himself
both German and Jew. He could
not survive the collapse of his
world, and in the first year of
Nazism died of a broken heart.
French director Julien Duvivi-
er has just made Wassermann's
"The Maurizius Case" into a film
that will have its premiere in
Paris next March. Wassermann
was born in the ancient Jewish
community of Fuerth in 1873 and
traced his family in that region
back for 600 years.

defunct Philadelphia Jewish
World. He died at the home of
his son. Born in Bessarabia in
1882, he came to the United
States in 1905 and settled in
