Church Women Accept Invitations
Temple Israel Judaism Institute
The fourth annual Institute
on Judaism for women leaders -
in Detroit will be held in an all-
day session Monday. at Temple
Israel. The church women will
be the guests of the temple Sis-
terhood at luncheon.
A faculty of four rabbis, com-
posed of Rabbi Leon Frain, Rab-
bi M. Robert Syme, Rabbi San-
ford E. Saperstein. of Pontia's
Temple Beth Jacob, and Dr.
Frank Rosenthal. of Suburban.
Temple. will lead sessions, re-
spectively, on "Jewish Beliefs,"
"Sabbaths and Holiday," "Im-
mortal Events in the Life of a
Jew" and "Jewish Point of View
about Jesus."
The program will begin at 9:30
a.m. with a display of ceremoni-
aea•c at
al objects in the foyer, under
the direction of Mrs. James Wil-
liams. The discussion sessions
will follow at 10 a.m.
After luncheon, at 1:30 p.m.,
the group will meet in general
assembly, at which the principal
feature will be the presentation
of the cantata "What Is Torah?"
by the Sisterhood Choral Group,
directed by Karl W. Haas.
Rabbi 'Pram will deliver an ad-
dress on "The Meaning of the
Synagogue," and Dr. Robert M.
Frehse, executive secretary of
the Detroit Round Table of
Catholics, Protestants and Jews,
will of rev the benediction.
The group will be led in pray-
er by Mrs. Harry Landsman, fol-
lowed by the welcoming address
of Mrs. Robert Coggan, Sister-
hood president.
Mrs. Jacob A. Citrin, interfaith
chairman 'who also is chairman
of the institute, is assisted by
Mrs. James Williams and Mrs.
Harry Landsman.
Over 800 women members of
Protestant and Catholic church-
es throughout the city have ac-
cepted :invitations to attend the
institute.
