COLOGNE, (JTA)—Two local
Gestapo leaders, who were given
two and three year penitentiary
terms last summer for shipping
Jews of this city to Eastern
death camps, will be tried for a
second time because of a Su-
preme Court ruling upholding
their appeal.
The court of Assizes must once
more determine whether Franz
Sprint and Kurt Matschke were
guilty of "negligence" in deport-
ing 13,000 Jews, of whom only
300 survived.
A Dortmund court has acquit-
ted former NaZi leader Fried-
rich Hesseldieck of charges of
intimidation in the forced "sale"
of the local synagogue to the
municipality.
Another court at Giessen has
acquitted former SS Lt. Cuno
Guettler implicated in the.
shooting of 87 • Nazi .inmates,
.many of them Jews, against or-
ders of his superiors. The court
ruled that since the murders
were committed while • he was
drunk and the statute of limi
tations on drunkenness extends
only five years, the murderer
could go free.

Center Young Adults to Hold Hanukah
Dance on Sunday, at Davison Center

Fifteen organizations, comprising the Jewish Yoting Adult
Council, will hold a Hanukah dance at 9 p.m., Sunday, in the
Davison Jewish Center. Dance committee members meeting to
formulate final plans are, seated, left to right, Ellen Siegal, Iota
Alpha Pi; Judy Heyman, Iota Alpha Pi Alumnae; Dorothy Gordon,
Beth Aaron, co-chairman; Laura Levin, Bnai Moshe; standing,
Al Eichler, Mu Beta Chi Alumni, co-chairman; Leon Olshansky,
JYAC president, Beth Aaron; Sam Pludwinski, Young People's
Social Club; and Marvin Schpeiser, executive secretary of JYAC.
The Center and Wayne University modern dance groups will pre-
sent dance interpretations of the holiday, and there will be a
special candlelighting ceremony. Music will be by Freddie Warren
and his orchestra. ,
