in the summer of 1954, it was
reported to the executive com-

committee viewed pictures flown
from Israel of two completed
cottages on the site.
The report on the Bnai Brith
'Children's Home was transmit-
led from Jerusalem by Mrs. M.
Temerson, vice president of
he Women's •Supreme Council,
who is visiting Israel as a mem-
ber of the Bnai Brith Israel
committee. The new home, lo-
cated near Mount Herzl, will
have facilities for more than
100 emotionally disturbed chil-
dren who will be under the con-
stant supervision of psychiatrists
and psychologists.
A highlight of the sessions
was the adoption of a vocational
guidance program for mature
women.
Two new manuals, prepared

Ascona, Pessin, Switzerland, died
last week at his home at the age
of 62. He was Swiss Mizrachi
president for 30 years.
The son Of the late Rabbi Ar-
thur Cohn of Basel, he was the
author of a standard work on
diverse Biblical weights. He also
wrote a book on the rights of the
poor and the orphans in the
Bible and Talmud.
During the Nazi persecutions,
Judge Cohn. helped thousands of
refugees reach the United States
and Israel. Five years ago • he
was named by the Israel govern-

Ministry of Justice in Jerusalem.
He was forced by ill health to
return to Switzerland.

Mr. Eban implied that he
would ask that the three-power
resolution condemning Israel for
i the Kibya raid be held until
after the meeting with Jordan
had taken place. He said that
Israel had failed to obtain a vol-
untary meeting which it had re-
quested and now was forced to
invoke the compulsory clause of
th, armistice agreement. "We
have taken the first formal
step," Mr. Eban said, " to make
progress from the armistiGe to
more stable relations in our
region."

Detroiter Reunited
With Sister; Meeting
Delayed for 30 Years

A Detroit resident last week
was reunited with the sister he
had not seen for 30 years.
It was an occasion Which Her-
man Hirschhorn, of 17310 Ken-
tucky, will long remember. It was
a thrill to which his sister, Mrs.
Anna Heimberg, had been look-
ing forward for many years.
Yet, their greetings were
marred by the callous stories of
Nazi brutalities, which eight
long years can never obliterate.
.s Mrs. Heimberg and her hus-
band, Jacob, related the grim
tragedy which, simply told, add-
ed 15 names to the Nazi persecu-
tion roles—Mr. Hirschhorn's
mother, his three brothers, two
sisters and nine nephews and
nieces, one of whom was the
Heimberg's daughter.
That the Heimbergs them-
selves survived is a miracle that
occurred when an understand-
ing Ukrainian family hid them
for three months, after they
managed to stay alive in a labor
camp for almost four years.
After living in Poland after
the war, the Hehnbergs left for
Israel where they stayed until
their emigration for the United
States this month.
Mr. Hirschhorn last saw his
family in 1923 when he decided
to leave for this country. He had
corresponded with his family,
but during the war all contact
was lost.
Mr. Heimberg, who was mana-
ger of an oil cracking and dis-
tilling plant in the mountainous
regions surrounding Drobolycz,
hopes to find similar work in
that capacity here.

JERUSALEM — Israel intends
to raise the question of imple-

guaranteeing it freedom of ac-

and the Hadassah Hospital atop
Mt. Scopus when the' United Na-

Other points which the Israelis
will raise, it was said, is freedom
of traffic between Jerusalem and
Tel Aviv through Arab-held La-

agreed to in principle when the
armistice pact was signed but
have never been implemented.
The Israelis will also raise t he
problem of border tension and
means of curtailing infiltration.
