Local Hadassali Program to Honor
Late Founder, Henrietta Szold

Individual groups of _the De-
troit Chapter of Hadassah, have
scheduled oneg shabbatiM. on
Dec. 5 to commemorate the
birthday of its founder, the late
Miss Henrietta Szold.
Temples and synagogues
throughout this city . and over
the country will join the move-
ment Miss Szold founded in pay-
ing tribute to her •- memory on
that sabbath.
Mrs. Jacob Sauls, Chapter
chairman of oneg shabbat, re-
ports that the following groups
will hold programs:
Sherwood and University East
—At the home of Mrs. Herbert
Bloom, 19480 Cumberland Way,
at 1 p. in. Chairmen Mrs. David
Zack and Mrs. David Gutow will
introduce Mrs. David B. •Werbe
who will speak on "Contempo-
rary Jewish Artists" and show
slides and paintings from her
gallery.
Russell Woods W. — A chil-
dren's party has been scheduled
for 1 p. m., Dec. 6, at the Davi-
son Jewish Center. Mrs. Morris
Barnett is chairman.
University North, South and
Bagley—At home of Mrs. Wil-

Mrs. Walter Field has been
named chairman of the Israel
fashion show, which will .culmi-
nate the HadasSah membership
drive on Dec. 10, at the Mercury
Theater. Adult and children's
fashions from the Israel Fashion
Institute maintained by Hadas-
sah will be modeled.

Hotel, New York,
by the P.E.C.
and the Zionist
Organization of
R. Szold America, it was
announced by Albert Schiff,
chairman of the dinner commit-
tee. The dinner will inaugurate a
$1,000,000 "Robert Szold Indus-
trial Center" in Israel, a com-
pound of factory buildings which
will enable manufacturers with
limited capital to produce sore-
ly-needed goods.
Dr. Nahum Goldmann, chair-
man of the Jewish Agency, and
Rabbi Irving Miller, president of
the ZOA, will be among the
speakers. Mr. Szold is a former
ZOA president.
