The planning committee for
Israel bonds of the Landsman-
shaften Council has issued a
call to representatives of all or-
ganizations to meet Sunday, at
a 10 a.m. breakfast at Korn's
Restaurant, 12216 Linwood. The
purpose of the meeting, accord-
ing to Sam Belkin, chairman
of the committee for bonds, is
to discuss arrangements for the
second annual bond function, to
take place Dec. 27 at Beth
Aaron Synagogue.

Representatives of 200 Jewish
Community Council affiliated
organizations at t e n d e d last
week's delegate assembly at
Workmen's Circle Hall and by
unanimous vote endorsed a plan.
for a Council-sponsored com-
munity wide institute to be held
soon.
The Institute will mark a day
of intensive consideration of
problems facing American Jew-
ish communities. The proposal,
made by the Council's culture
commission, chaired by Louis
LaMed, was transmitted to the
assembly by the Council presi-
dent, Sidney M. Shevitz.
The session heard reports
from the 'joint Community
Council - Zionist Council Com-
mittee in connection with the
current Middle East crisis, sub-
mitted by Shevitz and Irving W.
Schlussel, chairman of the Zion-
ist Council; an account of last
month's NCRAC Plenary Session
was presented by Samuel J.
Rhodes; and a report was 'given
by • Boris M. Joffe, Council ex-
ecutive director on recent com-
plaints about alleged discrimina-
tory practices of housing de-
velopments in the North Wood- .
ward area. Included in Joffe's
report was an accounting of
Council activity. on problems of
discrimination and • in univer-
sity workshops on human rela-
tions. In connection with at-
tempts to achieve revision of the
McCarran - Walter Immigration
law, Joffe lauded the work of
the Michigan Committee on Im-
migration. He warned of the at-*
tempts of a Communist front
group to secure support.
The meeting concluded with
refreshments served by a com-
mittee representing the. Work-
men's. Circle hospitality com-
mittee, headed by Mrs. Joseph
Feist ein, including Mesdames
Adolph Gottfurch t, Meyer
Schneider, Hy Freeman, Aaron.
Berg, Robert Israel, and Miss
Estelle Pikulin.
