- Mrs. Mary Reich; of Melbourne, Australia, currently is here on
a six month visit with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
Leslie Kay, of Kentucky Ave., whose children she has met for the
first time.
Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Moss, of Roselawn Ave., were recently
entertained prior to their departure for Israel on Nov. 13 by Dr.
and Mrs. Leslie Moss, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Levin, Mr. and Mrs
Bernard Middleman and Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Kay.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Hamburger recently entertained members
of the Sigma Alpha Mu Mother's Group and their husbands in
their home on Parkside Ave. Previously, Mrs. Ellis Thal was host-
ess at a luncheon at Thal Farms, Dexboro, Mich. Mrs. Daniel
Siegel is president of the group, which is associated with the Uni-
versity of Michigan SAM Chapter.
Miss Nina Katz, a student at the University of. Michigan, will
spend her Thanksgiving vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Irving I. Katz of Santa Rosa Drive.
Mr. and Mrs. Saul Saulson, of 19600 Stratford Road, have re-
turned from a South American and West Indies cruise.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Barach have moved to their new home
at 533 Jeffrey, Royal Oak, Mich.
Mrs. Goldie Barach, of Webb Ave., is vacationing r with the
Sam Stones in Los Angeles, Calif., during the month of November.
Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kazdan recently honored their daugh-
ter, Rita, at a sweet -sixteen luncheon in the Fox and Hounds.
Attending the affair were the Misses Rita Merkle, Ethel Kusnit,
Nita Lowe, Shirley Weinstock, Rachel Wenner, Shirley Kazdan,
Betty Kazdan, Rhoda Nathans, Charlene Friedman, Leba Cutler,
Sandra Zager, Phyllis Liptzen, Winifred Ledger, Eileen Block, Ellen
Averbuch, Barbara Halpern, Rena Katz, Lois Feldstein, Rochelle
Klempner, Marcia Silber, Sandra Potocsky, Phyllis Kaplan, Diane
Jacobson, and Mesdames Samuel Kazdan, Louis Kazdan, Morris
Kazdan, Harry Sturman, Max Covensky, Harry Horwitz, Maurice
Cornfield, Louis Levine, Ruth Davidson, Raymond Lipton, Mr. Jerry
Kazdan and her grandmothers, Mrs. Rose Kazdan and Mrs. Gussie
Levine.
Mrs. Samuel B. Danto, of Huntington Woods, Mich., was a
recent visitor in New York, during which time she was the guest
of her children, Dr. and Mrs. Arthur C. Danto and granddaugh-
ter, Liz. While - there,. Mrs. Danto was guest at a luncheon of
Women in World Affairs, Inc., which was addressed by Madame
Vijaya L. Pandit at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, and also attended
a meeting of the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis, also
at the Waldorf.
Mr. Nathan Schreiber, of 3781 W. Outer Dr., was honored
Nov. 12 on his 69th birthday at a party in the Lee Plaza Hotel.
In attendance, besides Mrs. Schreiber, were his -five daughters
and their husbands, his son and his wife, 11 grandchildren great
granddaughter and two sisters. A second party was given by his
daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Fink in their Lee
Plaza apartment.

Rabbi Moskowitz's Family

An appeal was issued this
week for assistance to Grand
Rabbi S. Moskowitz who recently
came to Detroit with his family
and is residing at 2724 Tuxedo,
phone TO. 5-7296.
Rabbi Moskowitz's family has
been homeless for 12 years. Es-
capees from concentration
camps, they came to New York
two years ago and a few months
ago settled in Detroit.
In need of help, Rabbi Mos-
kowitz, knOwn as the "Sosover-
Shatzer Rebbe," invites those
observing yahrzeits to come to
services in his home and to util-
ize his services in other ways,
thereby assisting him and his
family in seeking sustenance
here.

Adas Shalom Schedules
Hanukah Dinner-Dance

On Dec. 6, Adas Shalom Syna-
gogue; in cooperation with the
Men's Club and Sisterhood, will
hold its annual Hanukah din-
ner-dance.

Conway repeated their marital
vows before Rabbis Morris Adler,
Jacob Segal and Max J. Wohl-
gelernter.
The bride, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Samuel Hechtman, of 3440
Sherbourne, chose a gown of
ivory satin, distinguished by a
deep, square neckline and high-
lighted with imported, hand-
rubbed alencon lace with ap-
pliques of the lace- on the snug-
fitting bodice and long fitted
sleeves.
Matching lace formed a bow-
knot at the hipline and extended
into a full skirt with cathedral
train. Her fingertip veil of silk
illusion fell from a coronation
crown of matching lace and seed
pearls. She carried a bouquet of
lilies of the valley and orchids.
Mrs. Graham A. Orley, sister
of the bride, was matron of hon-
or, and Miss Rhoda B. Hechtman
was maid of honor. Bridesmaids
were Ruthanne Coggan, Mrs.
Harold Alpert, Miriam Schwartz
and Gloria Kanar.
The bridegroom, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Max Conway, of 1626
Balmoral, was assisted by Shel-
don Sucher as best man. Seating
the guests were Graham A. Or-
ley, Sherwin Conway, Robert
Sosnick, Herbert Zimmerman
and Harold Alpert.
Following dinner and a re-
ception in the synagogue, the
young couple left for a honey-
moon in California and Hawaii.
On their return, they will re-
side at 23060 Kipling, in Oak
Park.

Oct. 25, at Young Israel Center.

gown, designed along princess
lines, which featured pointed
sleeves and ended in a flowing
train. Her fingertip veil of illus-
ion fell from a skull cap of
matching lace. She carried white .
orchids 'and streamers on a
prayer hook.

or and bridemaids included
Betty Lou Solomon and Dolly
Andrews. Marilyn Shirlick was
junior bridesmaid, and Lynn
Soloway was flower girl.

and ushers were Harvey Litvin
and Harold Reisler.

Lavick to Speak Here

The renowned Yiddish
author, H. Lavick, will visit De-
troit, Dec. 9 to deliver an ad-
dress at Workmen's Circle.
Lavick, who is now complet-
ing an elaborate work on the
book of Job, will speak on the
theme, "In the Days of Jab,"
and will read from his book.
Greetings will be rendered by
students of the United Hebrew
Schools and of the United Jew-
ish High Schools. The •program
will include musical selections
from Lavick's poems.
